Eleanor (Nojeim) Aramony, 90 of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday, March 15th with family by her side. Eleanor was born in Utica, New York, a daughter of Lebanese immigrants Saad and Nazera (Sheadi) Nojeim. She grew in Utica, NY met and married the man who became her husband for the next 63 years Eli R. Aramony. She then moved to Worcester with her new husband and has lived here ever since. Eleanor worked for a time in retail sales before accepting a position with the City of Worcester in the Worcester Public Library for many years before retiring. Eleanor's husband Eli passed away in December of 2010. She is survived by her three loving children, Joan Bernert and her husband Michael of Windham NH, Russell and John Aramony with whom she lived; two sisters, Marion Norton and Bebe Aramony; her loving grandchildren, Michael and Sarah; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Two sisters, Frieda and Isabel also pre deceased her. Eleanor was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral and a former member of their choir. She loved reading and taking trips, but most of all she loved her family and being with them and friends. Eleanor will be sadly missed. Calling hours for Eleanor will be held Tuesday, March 18th from 4 pm to 7 pm and again on Wednesday March 19th from 9 to 9:45 am in the St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna St. Followed by her funeral service at 10:00 am. Burial next to her husband will follow in Hope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street. Worcester 01604.
