Thomas A. Kenney, Jr., 89 of Hull formerly of Worcester passed away with his dear and devoted family by his side, Wednesday February 26th 2014. Thomas was born in Worcester a son of Thomas A Kenney, Sr and Marion (Donahue) Kenney. He grew up in Worcester graduated from Commerce High and joined the U.S. Navy during World War II to serve his country. In 1964, Tom met and married the women who became the love of his life for the next 50 years. Matilda Velleco, together they moved to the eastern shores of Massachusetts in Hull where they settled and enjoyed the sea coast for the next 50 years. Tom worked many years for the teamsters union local 25 as a route driver for various companies before retiring. He then worked as a truck driver for the U.S. Postal Service out of the Boston sorting facility for an additional seven years before retiring. Tom is survived by his beloved family, Matilda (Velleco) his wife of 50 years; his children; Larry Kenney and his wife Ellen of Worcester, Thomas Kenney and his wife Jacqueline of Holland, Daniel Kenney and his wife Deborah of Wilmington NC., Carol Gorman of Pembroke and Maryellen Poskus of Weymouth; many grandchildren, great grandchildren nieces, nephews and extended family. A son, Albert Poskus and daughter Julie Poskus pre deceased him. Tom was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 25. He loved living by the ocean, the beach, the tail ships, the mansions of Newport R.I. and traveling. Most of all Tom loved his family, being with them at holidays and family gatherings and just being where he wanted to be. Tom's funeral will be held Monday, March 3rd from the funeral home with a Mass at 11:00 am in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St. Burial will follow in St John's Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9 am to 10:30 am prior to leaving for church.
