Thiala Jean (Taylor) Brown, 51, of Worcester passed away Friday, February 21,2014 with family by her side after brief illness. Thiala one of seven children of Richard Earl and Willie Ruth (Bush) Taylor, was born, grew up and educated in Tuscaloosa Alabama. In 1984 while visiting family in Worcester, Thiala met Gregory Brown. Two years later, 1986, Thiala and Greg married and she then moved to Worcester where they have lived ever since. Thiala is survived by the love of her life of 28 years Gregory; her two beloved children, Natasha S. Taylor of Worcester, Brandon R. Taylor and his fiancé Sara in North Carolina; the grandchildren she so cherished and loved, Aeneas, Eden and Leonardo; Six siblings Gwentella Taylor, Brendal O'Rourke, Roland Taylor, Ronald Taylor, Fredricka Burrage and Nikita Taylor; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Thiala has worked the past 15 years for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Youth Services in Westboro. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Thiala's family was her life and especially her grandchildren her inspiration. Her easy way, quick wit and funny stories made any gathering more enjoyable. Her enjoyments included Bingo, vacations with her family to Hampton Beach and cooking. She was a huge Alabama Crimson Tide Fan, and a member of Mt Sinai Church of God in Christ. Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, February 27th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral service will be held Friday February 28th at 11:00 am in Mt Sinai Church of God, 63 Wellington St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.
