Karen E. (Skeeters) Dunyo, 59 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2014 in UMASS Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Karen is survived by her husband of fifteen years, Elder Minister Prosper Dunyo; her son Kyley N. Nortey and his wife; her daughter, Alexis D. Nortey all of Worcester; two brothers, Eugene "Jamie" Skeeters of Worcester and Albert Skeeters of South Carolina; a sister, Regina Skeeters of South Carolina; three beloved grandchildren, Jesye, Jekye and Kyley Nortey, Jr.; many nieces and nephews. Karen was born in Niagra Falls, New York, a daughter of the late Eugene and Pearl (Brown) Skeeters, Sr. She graduated from Doherty High School and Rob Roy Academy with her cosmetology degree. Karen worked as a nurse's aide at Worcester State Hospital for ten years retiring in 1996. Karen was a First Lady and member of Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church where she was very active in the church community and choir. She had an immense love for interior design and decorating and floral design; that was her passion. She also enjoyed doing hair. The Homegoing service for Karen will be held on Friday, March 7, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. in Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church, 1189 Main Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester. She will lay in state on Thursday, March 6th from 4-7 p.m. and again on Friday, March 7th from 10-11 a.m. in Christ Tabernacle Apostolic Church.
