Margarette (Harootian) Ovian, 98, a 60 year resident of Shrewsbury, passed away on February 17, 2014. She was the most amazing wife, mother, grandmother, friend and woman and will be missed by all those who knew her. Margarette is survived by her daughter, Gail Ovian of Shrewsbury; her twin daughters Norma Frascarelli and her husband Andre of Delray Beach Florida, and Nancy Untiet and her husband Michael of Berlin, Connecticut and Delray Beach, Florida; her grandson, Matthew Untiet and his wife Victoria of Milford, Connecticut. She also leaves her soon to be born great grandson whom she so wanted to cherish and hold. She will watch over all of us from Heaven. Margarette also leaves a wonderful group of friends; a very close knit group of women, the Fabulous Fifties, who have been friends for many years. In heaven, she will join her husband of 46 years, Berg Ovian who passed away in 1997; her parents Paul T. and Ogaper (Vakil) Harootian; as well as two sisters, Mary and Margaret Harootian and two brothers, Harry and Peter Harootian. Margarette was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Paul T. and Ogaper (Vakil) Harootian. She graduated from Commerce High School and moved to Shrewsbury in 1954. Margarette was the office manager for Central Massachusetts Anesthesia Affiliates for many years and previously worked as the payroll manager for Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Worcester. Margarette was very active in her community, as a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Shrewsbury, the Shrewsbury Woman's Club, the Shrewsbury Garden Club, and the Lodge #168 Order Sons of Italy bocce league. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, traveling, reading, crossword puzzles and occasional trips to the casinos. A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 1 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Visiting hours will be held from 9:30-10:45 AM at the Church prior to her funeral service. Burial will be at a later date in Mountain View Cemetery, Shrewsbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Margarette's name may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 440 Main Street, Shrewsbury or the Massachusetts Association for the Blind, Community Services, 799 West Boylston Street Worcester, MA 01606.
