Frank A. Papale, Jr., 90 of Hampton, NH., formerly of Dedham and Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 14, 2014 at home surrounded by his loving family. Frank is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-seven years, Constance M. (Belisle) Papale; his two daughters, Donna (Papale) Wilson and her husband Jon of Stratham, NH and Joanne (Papale) Akie and her husband Richard of Sherborn, MA.; four grandchildren, Kristen Wilson of Atkinson, NH, Gregory Wilson of Stratham, NH, twins, Geoffrey and Garrett Akie both of Boston; his brother Mario Papale and his wife Frances of Holden, MA.; three sisters, Mary Andresano of Tucson, AZ., Rita Dunlop of Westborough, MA., and Louise Stucchi and her husband Robert of Framingham; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother, Nicholas Papale and two sisters, Gloria Billings and Theresa Papale. Frank was born in Santa Maria, Capua Vetere, Caserti, Italy, a son of the late Francisco and Luisa (Avenia) Papale. He graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester, Class of 1942 and soon after enlisted in the United States Navy Officer's Training Program at Dartmouth College, Northwestern University and Harvard University. He was a communications officer on the island of Eniwetok Atoll in the South Pacific during World War II. He graduated with his Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration from Clark University in 1947. Frank's commercial lending career began in 1948 in Worcester, continuing until 1990 when he retired as Senior Vice President of U.S Trust Company in Boston. Frank was a member of Cocheco Country Club in Dover, NH. He cherished time with his family and enjoyed gardening, boating and fishing on Lake Winnipesaukee. Services for Frank will be held on Wednesday, February 19th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main St., Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Tuesday February 18th from 4 pm to 6 pm in the funeral home.
