BettyAnn (Schumacher) Odone, 71, of Northborough, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2014, in her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her husband, Roger L. Odone, predeceased her in July 2004. Betty is survived by her loving children; Dawn Odone Keeney and her husband David J. Keeney of Glastonbury, CT and Shawn D. Odone and his wife Martha of Shrewsbury; six grandchildren, Mason Keeney, Brooke Keeney, Autumn Odone, Arianne Odone, Andrew Clark and Christian Clark; several nieces and nephews. Betty was born in Sidney, New York, daughter of the late, Albert and Dorothy I. (Sheeley) Schumacher. She graduated from high school in Sidney and later attended Flight Attendant School in New York City. Betty was a social butterfly and she had a wonderful sense of humor; she loved to have a good time and make people laugh; these qualities were key to her successful career in food service and hospitality. She retired last month from Lowes Variety Market in Northborough, having previously worked as Catering Manager and Vice President at Creedon and Company, for many years. Betty had also worked as a bartender at the former Sheraton Lincoln in Worcester. Betty loved to have a good time and make people smile. She enjoyed playing cards and BINGO. She loved her flower gardens and taking bus trips and cruises with her friends and family. Her children said it best"her social calendar was more full than ours". Memorial Calling Hours for Betty will be held on Monday, February 17, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, February 18, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home.
