Barbara A. (Noonan) Laino, 75, of Worcester passed away with her cherished family by her side, Wednesday January 1st 2014. Barbara was born in Worcester, one of two daughters of John F. and Doris M. (Phaneuf) Noonan. She graduated from St Stephen's High School in 1955. Barbara then met and on September 3, 1960 married Philip A. Laino. Together they settled in the Grafton Hill neighborhood to raise their family for the next 53 years. For more than 25 years before retiring Barbara worked for the Guild of St. Agnes providing a warm and loving atmosphere for children under the age of five. Barbara is survived by the family to whom she devoted her life: her husband Philip A.Laino; three daughters, Cynthia M. "Cindy" Laino, Debra S. Bottis and Cheryl A. Laino and one son, Worcester Fire Capt. Paul R. Laino and his wife Cheryl all of Worcester; her sister and best friend Joan F. Noonan of Auburn; four grandchildren, Jessica, Samantha, Jennifer and Sean; extended family and friends. One of her cherished grandchildren, Matthew P. Laino passed away in 1994. Barbara was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her grandchildren were her life and they always put a smile on her face when she was with them. Barbara was a member of St Stephen's Church. She loved the beaches of Wells and Ogunquit, cruising on Sebago Lake and the coastal waters of Maine, her daily trips to Mrs. Mack's Bakery for a coffee and good conversation and especially Sunday dinners out with her sister. Her family will greatly miss her gentle reminders about important events and to change their clocks in spring and fall. Barbara's funeral will be held Monday, January 6th from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 10:00 am in St. Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, January 5th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Barbara's name can be made to the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston Mass.
