Pearl E. (Dionne) Slack, 78, of Boylston, passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Richard Slack in 1997. Pearl is survived by two sons, Keith F. Slack and Brian J. Slack both of Boylston; a daughter, Kathryn T. Jankowski and her husband Guy of Holden; her daughter in law, Lori A. Slack of Rutland; a brother, Gerald Dionne and his wife Patricia of Marlborough; seven grandchildren, Amy, Jamie, Sarah, Kyle, Kelly, Brandon, and Richard Jr.; four great grandchildren, Austin, Owen, Dylan and Myles; her best friend, Kathy DiCicco of Groton, MA; many nieces and nephews. Pearl was predeceased by her son, Richard A. Slack, Sr. in 2004 and by a brother and sister, Charles Logan and Joanne Brigham. She was born in Sheridan, Maine, daughter of the late, Fred Dionne and Hazel (Corbin) Logan. She moved to Boylston after marrying her husband Richard, where they raised their children, and she has lived for over fifty years. Pearl worked for many years as Human Resource Manager for Iandoli Markets and at Shaw's Supermarkets, from where she retired. "Nana" loved her family and friends, and enjoyed all the special times they shared. Her grandchildren were the lights of her eyes and they brought her great joy and pride. Pearl enjoyed many good times; she loved to shop, play cards and enjoyed "The wonder of it all" Calling Hours and Funeral Services for Pearl will be held on Friday morning, January 3, with Calling Hours from 9:30 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. all occurring in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
