Judith M. (Brosnihan) Morano of Worcester passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 28, 2013 after an illness. Judith is survived by her three children, Paul D. Morano, Jr. and his wife Andrea (Guerra) Morano, Tara L. Porcaro and her husband Frank A. Porcaro, Jr., and Melissa L. Morano all of Worcester; six grandchildren, Nicolas P. and Michael P. Morano, Leigh C. and Christian P. Porcaro, and Donald D. and Tess L. St. Pierre; a sister, Eleanor B. McGuirk, and her husband William T. McGuirk of Worcester; a brother, G. Timothy Brosnihan and his wife Gail (Beahn) Brosnihan of Holden; and several nieces and nephews. Judith was predeceased by her husband of 49 years Paul D. Morano on September 4, 2012, and her sister Mary Ann Brosnihan on November 3, 1992. Judith was born in Worcester on February 8, 1943, a daughter of the late Timothy J. and Eleanor M. (Baroni) Brosnihan and has lived here all her life. She is a graduate of Saint Stephen's Central Catholic High School. Judith was raised in the Grafton Hill section of the city and proclaimed that "Grafton Hill and Saint Stephen's will always be who I am." After graduating from high school, Judith was employed by New England Telephone Company for several years, and then she went on to raise her three children. Judith was employed by the Dinand Library at the College of the Holy Cross from January 1979, retiring in June 2009, after 30 years. Services will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2014 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, January 3rd from 5-8 p.m. in the funeral home.
