Angelo J. "Bebo" Paladino, 87 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at St. Vincent's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Angelo's wife of fifty-nine years, Franca (Devena) Paladino passed away on November 17, 2012. He is survived by his two daughters, Rosanna Paladino-Swillo of Worcester and Patricia Bertrand of Tamarack, FL; his son, Robert Paladino and his wife Lynn of Centerville; five adored grandchildren, Erica Burke and her wife Lisa Antuna of Medford, Sara Swillo-Muckian and her husband Robert of Tewksbury, John Paladino and his wife Emily of St. Louis, MS, Emily Bertrand of Mashpee and Rachael Paladino of Centerville; his great granddaughter, Ellison Iris Antuna-Burke; many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Andrea Searah Paladino; a son-in-law, Randolph F. Swillo; four brothers, John, Anthony, Frank and Joseph "Red" Paladino; two sisters, Palma Sbrogna and Sara DeCaro. Angelo was born in Worcester, a son of the late Giovanni D. and Columbine (Setaro) Paladino and has lived here all his life. He attended Worcester Public School and later served his country during World War II and the Korean Conflict in the United States Army in the 385th Military Police Service. After his tour of duty, Angelo graduated from Boston Barber School. He was the owner, operator and head barber of Bebo's Barber Shop on Shrewsbury Street for twenty years before he retired in 1973. Angelo was also a master craftsman for the Department of Public Works in the City of Worcester for ten years. He was a former member of St. George Church. Angelo had many enjoyments in life. He loved playing his numbers, walking every morning, going to Dunkin Donuts with the guys, and reading the paper. Angelo was known as the cannoli king of Worcester at Scano's Bakery where he made cannoli's for President Bill Clinton. Angelo loved traveling to Aruba. He was a great husband, father, grandfather and brother and his family will remember him as the greatest story teller. Services for Angelo will be held on Monday, December 30, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 12:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, December 30th from 10 a.m.-12 noon in the funeral home prior to his funeral mass.
