Denis M. McPartland, 72, of Leicester, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013, in his home. His wife, Janice (Anderson) McPartland, predeceased him in December 2002. Denis is survived by his loving daughter, Megan McPartland of Northbridge; two brothers, James McPartland and his wife Kari of Dover and Michael McPartland of Cape Cod; a sister in law, Virginia Cipro and her husband Paul of Worcester; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, William McPartland. Born in Worcester, son of the late Francis "Mickey" and Rita (Brissette) McPartland, and graduated from Saint Peter's High School. Denis was a talented carpenter and had worked for the Carpenter Local 107 for forty-four years. He served as Union Steward on many construction projects, and was very active within the Union doing things such as community volunteering and walking every year in the Saint Patrick's Day Parade. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tinkering with cars. He was an excellent carpenter and was always working on some type of project, whether it be at his home or the home of a friend or relative; he loved to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed time with his family, especially with his daughter Megan, who turned him into a Red Sox fan, and his loving dog "Mickey". Calling hours for Mr. McPartland will be held on Wednesday, December 4, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 5, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 8:30, for a Funeral Mass celebrated at 9 a.m. in Saint George Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
