Mae Louise Jennette

Mae Louise (Carey) Jennette, of Largo, Florida, formerly of Worcester passed away peacefully Saturday, November 30th 2013 in her home with family gathered by her side. She was 89. Louise was born in Worcester, the daughter of Charles H. and May (Farrow) Carey. She graduated from Girls Trade High School class of 1942. Louise then accepted a position as a welder better known in the United States as "Rosie the Riveters" serving the War effort during WWII. At the completion of the War, Louise left the factory, met and married the man who would be her husband and love for the next 45 years, Michael A. Jennette Jr. Together they settled in Worcester to raise their family before Michael passed away in 1993. Louise continued to reside in the family home until moving to Florida over 4 years ago. She also worked as a supervisor for the Astra Pharmaceuticals Company over 20 years before retiring. Besides her husband Michael, Louise was predeceased by a brother Harry Carey. She is survived by the family she so loved, her six children, Michael A. Jennette, III and his wife Lorraine of Worcester, Marilyn A. Brunelle and her husband Charles of Pinellas Park Florida, Thomas A. Jennette and his wife Susan of New Braintree, James F. Jennette of Worcester, Catherine A. Jenray and her wife Vanessa of Austin, Texas, John P. Jennette and his fiancée Margaret "Peggy" Hamel of Worcester; 13 grandchildren; 2 great granddaughters; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Louise was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, and the VFW, Ladies Auxiliary. During her lifetime Louise was a special woman who cherished her family, friends, and her neighborhood. She became known as a woman that opened her heart and home to the neighborhood children. She would routinely feed them her famous meatballs and comfort them in any way she could. They all considered themselves her adopted children, and till the day she passed was admired and deeply loved by all. Nothing made her more inspired and happy than opening her house to everyone especially her children and grandchildren. Louise enjoyed traveling the world, reading a great mystery novel, playing cards, and watching the cooking channel. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family, Thursday, December 5th 2013 from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Friday, December 6th from the funeral home with a Mass at 11 am in Immaculate Conception Church, 353 Grove Street. Burial next to her husband will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Flowers may be sent or memorial remembrances made to the Suncoast Hospice, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd, Clearwater, FL,
