Richard J. Ford, 64, of Worcester died peacefully at home Wednesday November 27, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 37 years Suzan (Wilson) Ford, His mother Margaret M. (Harmon) Ford, his children; Brian Ford and his wife Robyn, Dennis and his companion Lisa Daley, and Andrew and his wife Jennifer, three granddaughters Ryleigh, Rachael, and Addison Ford. A brother, David J. Ford and his wife MaryAnn, and a sister Margaret M. Judson and her husband John, many nieces and nephews. Richard was born in Hartford CT. son of the late John A.Ford and came to the Worcester area as a child. He was a graduate of Burncoat Senior High School, and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Richard worked for the United States Postal Service as a letter carrier for many years, and then worked in the Maintenance Division until he retired. He was a member of the Marine Corp League, the Auburn Sportsman Club, The American Legion, and the Elks Club. Richard was also a long time member of the Disabled American Veterans. He attended St. Johns Church. Richard loved boating, deep sea fishing, hunting and target shooting. However, his most treasured times were those spent with his family especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Richards Funeral will be held Tuesday December 3 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM in the Church of St. John, 40 Temple St. Calling hours with the family in the funeral home will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM on Monday evening.
