Michel J LeMay

Michel J. LeMay, 86 of Sutton, formerly of Worcester and Millbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2013, in the Lutheran Home surrounded by his loving family. Michel is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-three years, Phyllis M. (Schnare) LeMay; two sons, David M. LeMay of New York City and John J. LeMay of Salt Lake City, UT; two daughters, Cindy A. Desjardin of Sutton and Mary E. Sanfacon and her husband Stephen of Grafton; a brother, David LeMay of Wisconsin; two sisters, Virginia Reidy and Marianne Roach, both of Worcester; five grandchildren-- Sean Desjardin and his wife Jamie of Webster, MA, Kristen Thoin and her husband Michael of Warwick, RI, Olivia and Luc Sanfacon of North Grafton, and Jacob LeMay of Utah, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Frederick and Andre G. LeMay and two sisters, Jacqueline LeMay and Theresa Maloney. Michel was born in Worcester, a son of the late Wilfred J. and Irene P. (Picard) LeMay. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and lived in Worcester until 1960. He later moved to Millbury where he lived for forty years before moving to Sutton six years ago. Michel served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. Michel worked as a plumber for William F. Lynch for over thirty years before retiring in 1992. He was a member of Saint James Church in Grafton, the Plumbers' Union Local 4, and the Charles F. Minney VFW in Millbury. He was an avid gardener, hunter and bowler. Services for Michel will be held on Monday, December 2, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint James Church, 89 Main St., South Grafton. Burial will be held at a later date. A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 1 from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home.
