Grace K. Minor

Grace K. Minor, 86, formerly of Manchester, NH died Sunday, November 17, 2013 in Worcester, MA. She was born July 25, 1927 to Florence A. (Archambault) and Clair C. Kelley. Her early years were spent in Bakersfield, Enosburg, Burlington and Williston VT. After graduating from Bakersfield's Brigham Academy in 1944, she held various positions with the F. W. Woolworth Co. in Burlington, VT for eight years and then spent another eight years as a cost accounting clerk for the General Electric Co. in Burlington, VT. Grace married Raymond G. Minor of Williston, VT in 1955. They had a daughter, Kathleen, in 1961 and moved to Manchester, NH in 1965. Raymond died in 1970. Grace earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH graduating Cum Laude with the Class of 1977. She later was employed in the Manchester, NH Public Schools and received her certification in General Special Education from Rivier College in Nashua, NH in 1983. She worked as a specialist in Manchester Public Schools from 1983 until health problems caused her to retire in 1996. Grace especially enjoyed learning and took extra courses and classes at UVM, UNH and Rivier College. She was very proud that she was able to make it possible for her daughter to attend and receive a degree from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, MA. She was active in the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish ladies organization in Williston, VT and St. Catherine of Siena Parish ladies guild in Manchester, NH for several years. In 2011, she moved to Notre Dame du Lac Assisted Living in Worcester, MA. She cherished the friendships and memories she made while there and had just relocated to the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center on the same property. She was there for a brief but blessed time. Her family wishes to thank the staff at Notre Dame Health Care including the Notre Dame Hospice team for their tender loving care. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mark Buhl of Boylston, MA; her siblings, Mrs. Veronica Monette of Bakersfield, VT; Wilbur and Phyllis Kelley of St. Albans, VT and Summerfield, FL as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Her deceased siblings include brothers Lyle, Richard and Gordon; and infant sister, Mary Ann. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. Albans, VT followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery. To honor Grace's memory, please consider a contribution to the religious or children's educational charity of your choice. She loved to spread her support as far as she could. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, November 22, 2013, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the Brady & Levesque Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., St. Albans, Vermont from 6 to 8 P.M. Thursday evening.
