Jesus Torres

Jesus L. Torres, a retired Worc. District Court Officer passed away peacefully Sunday, November 17, 2013 with his much loved family gathered beside him. He was 62 years old. Jesus was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, one of three children of Laureano and Juanita (Medina) Torres. At the age of 5, Jesus and his family moved to New York City, where he grew up and graduated from High School. Shortly thereafter, Jesus moved to Worcester where he met and married the love of his life for the next 39 years, Sandra M. Beaudoin. Together they settled in Worcester to raise their family. In 1975, Jesus applied for and was awarded a position as a Court Officer, for the Trial Court of Massachusetts, Worcester District Division, a position he held for the next 17 years and earning a criminal justice degree from Quinsigamond Community College before retiring due to illness. Jesus is survived by the family he loved and who loved him, his wife Sandra; three cherished daughters Samantha Glazebrook of East Brookfield, Kim Cameron and her husband Wade of North Brookfield, Julie Ortiz and her husband Federico of Worcester; five grandchildren that were the apples of his eye, Abigail, Hana, Paige, Evan and Mason; two brothers, Nelson Torres of Worcester and Juan Torres of Louisville KY; Nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. A devoted family man, Jesus found nothing more important that loving, laughing and sharing Life with his family. He loved all aspects and the peace of fishing. Besides his family fishing was his passion. Jesus and Sandy loved to travel, and found cruising the Caribbean very enjoyable. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday, November 21st from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A prayer service will follow at 7 pm. Burial in Worcester County Memorial Park on Friday will be private.
