Beverly A. (Spring) Pratt, 78, of Millbury passed away Saturday November 9, 2013, at home with her devoted family by her side. Bev is survived by her three sons, Thomas J. Pratt and his wife Patricia of Millbury, David F. Pratt, Robert J. Pratt and his wife Elizabeth; her close friend and companion, B. Gregory Bowen all of Auburn; five grandsons, Thomas and his fiancé Angela Colarusso, Timothy, David Jr., Dylan and Tyler Pratt; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Sarah Pratt; a niece, Kathi Sherry and her husband Michael Rodriguez; a nephew, Kevin Sherry; her Aunt, Violet Hanks; many cousins, extended family and friends. Her beloved husband Thomas M. Pratt passed away in 1997. She was also predeceased by her sister-in-law Beverly A. Sherry-Bowen. Bev was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter of the late Lyman B. and Astrid A. (Bjorklund) Spring. She graduated from Commerce High School, was married in 1954 and moved to Philadelphia where she worked as a secretary while her husband was in the U.S. Navy. Bev and her husband settled in Millbury in 1960, where they raised their family. With her husband, Bev co-owned Auburn Auto School and Keating Auto School for more than 20 years before retiring in 1990. After retirement, she volunteered her time at several nursing homes and Memorial Hospital. Until recently, Bev was an active member of the Millbury Women's Club, North American Martyrs Catholic Church in Auburn and a member of the Greater Boston Post-Polio Association. She formerly taught Christian Doctrine Classes at St. Brigid Church in Millbury. A former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Worcester, Bev volunteered her time with the soup kitchen ministry and served on the parish council. She enjoyed reading, painting and spending time with her family. In previous years, Bev and Tee enjoyed many gatherings with their closest friends better known as "The Club". Bev loved vacationing in Maine, Cape Cod, Aruba and Hawaii. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, niece and friend. Her greatest joy was in giving of herself to others. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Bev's family from 4 pm to 7 pm, Thursday, November 14th in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be celebrated Friday, November 15th from the funeral home with a procession at 10:15 am to North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial next to her husband will follow in St. John Cemetery, 260 Cambridge Street, Worcester.
