Anthony M. Piscitelli, Jr. of Stuart, Florida, formerly of Worcester passed away of a sudden illness on October 16, 2013. Anthony is survived by his beloved six siblings Mary Ellen Papagni of Worcester, Antoinette J. Lesperance and her husband William of Shrewsbury, Patricia M. Hultquist and her husband Richard, Theresa Brunelle and her husband David, Paul M. Piscitelli and his wife Wendy and Grace Piscitelli, all of Worcester, thirteen nieces and nephews Lisa Rocheford, Steven Papagni, Nadine Laino, Aimee Pasieka, Brian and Mark Valois, Michelle Valois-Lopez, Domenic and Peter Gemma, Andrew and Matthew Piscitelli, Deric Lescalleet, and Apryl McQuade, plus many great nieces, great nephews and cherished friends. Anthony was born in Worcester, a son of the late Anthony M. Sr. and Ellen D. Piscitelli and the late Pauline J. Piscitelli. He graduated from Worcester Boys Trade High School in 1969. Anthony was a Vietnam War Era veteran serving in the US Navy as a member of the Sea Bees Construction Battalion MCB-71. During his tour he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Antarctic Service Medal, and was honorably discharged in 1976. Prior to moving to Florida in the 1980's, Anthony was an active member of the Carpenters Union Local 107, working alongside his father. He was a charter member of the locally founded Corvette's United Club in the 1970's and could be seen cruising the streets of his hometown, top down, in his Corvette, a 1968 C3 Hardtop Convertible, British green. After moving to Florida, Anthony joined Carpenter's Union Local 130, where he also served as an Executive Board member. Most recently, he was employed by Advantage Sales and Marketing remodeling Home Depot stores nationwide. Tony was an avid surf-caster and enjoyed horticultural design and remodeling his home. He volunteered for Habitat for Humanity following Hurricane Andrew in 1992. Anthony did what he loved and loved what he did. His greatest passion was his skill as a Master Carpenter. He designed and constructed beautiful cabinetry and furniture but could also build a house from the ground up. His greatest love was his family, forming special bonds with nieces and nephews and always making time for even the youngest on his brief visits home. Services for Anthony will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. A period of calling hours will be held on Saturday, November 23rd from 9:30-10:30 in the funeral home prior to his funeral mass.
