Sr. Carmelina Bianco, MPV, 98, of the Religious Venerini Sisters, Worcester, died on Sunday, October 20th, at St. Francis Healthcare and Rehab Center. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Joseph and Maria (Croce) Bianco. Sr. Carmelina entered the Congregation of the Religious Venerini Sisters, making her first profession in 1938. She was an elementary school teacher for fifty-four years, teaching at Venerini Academy, St. Anthony's in Fitchburg, St. Anna's in Leominster and parochial schools in New York and Rhode Island. Sr. Carmelina is predeceased by her sisters, Virginia Mondor of Auburn, Theresa Ferraiuolo of Worcester, Rose Cosenza and Helen Narciso; one brother, Pasquale Bianco of Worcester. She leaves eighteen nieces and nephews, several grandnieces and nephews, and great grandnieces and grandnephews as well as her religious family of Venerini Sisters. The Venerini Sisters wish to thank the staff of St. Francis Healthcare and Rehab Center, the Hospice Team of Jewish Healthcare as well as The Willows Healthcare Center for their loving care of Sr. Carmelina during the closing years of her life. Funeral arrangements are being provided by the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation Street, with calling hours from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. on Thursday in the funeral home and a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel St Ann Church 24 Mulberry St at 10:00 A.M. on Friday.
