Herbert W. Young, 83, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2013, at his home, surrounded by loving family. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Pitts) Young; children, Veronica Tate of Worcester, Raymond Davis and his wife Debra of Worcester, Clytheia Bushell and her fiancé William Martin of Georgia, and Patrick Davis and his wife Patricia of Springfield; fourteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren; a brother, James Young of Florida; a sister, Margaret Hagen of New York; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Harriette Cocroft. Herbert was born in Chiefland, Florida, son of Henry and Bertha (Buie) Young. He served his nation proudly in the United States Army. Herbert was a steel worker, retiring from the former George F. Blake Company. He had previously worked for Harrington-Richardson Arms Company of Worcester. He was a member of Grace Community Church. Calling Hours and Funeral Services for Herbert, will be held on Friday, October 25, in Grace Christian Center, 126 Russell Street, (intersection of Elm and Russell Street across from Elm Park) Worcester; with calling hours from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by his Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Interment and Military Funeral Honors will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
