Joseph E. Landroche, 66, of Holden, passed away on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, in Saint Vincent Hospital. He is survived by his wife, Donna L. (Lucier) Landroche; two daughters, Kellie Landroche of Worcester and Melissa Powers and her husband Stephen of Holden; two grandchildren, Shawna and Makensie Powers; a brother, Brad Landroche of Worcester; a sister, Linda Prest and her husband Ronald of Webster; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Joseph was predeceased by two sisters, Katherine O'Brien and Sharon Smith. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Elzear and Rose (Carpenter) Landroche. He graduated from high school and later from the Worcester Police Academy. Joseph retired from the maintenance department at UMass Hospital. He had previously worked as a Special Police Officer for the Worcester Police Department and as a security guard for BNR Security. He was a member of Saint Paul's Cathedral, and had been an altar server at the former Saint Anthony's Church. He enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing BINGO, Hampton Beach and target shooting. The family would like to thank all of the wonderful caregivers from Oriol Healthcare, for it was their love and care that made Joseph and his family feel special. Calling hours for Joseph will be held on Friday, October 11, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
