Mary (Ciccarelli) Silaidos

Mary A. (Ciccarelli) Silaidos, 90, of Worcester died peacefully Wednesday September 25, 2013 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Her husband George F. Silaidos died January 22, 2008.Mary leaves her loving family; a daughter Bernadette M. Silaidos and her Fiance,Tom Shevchenko, two sons; George J. Silaidos, and Theodore R. Silaidos and his companion Nancy Mouradian all of Worcester. Mary also leaves a sister Erminia "Minnie" Morocco of Worcester and many nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by four brothers; Carmen, Frank, Amando,Victor, and a sister Amelia Quercio. Mary was born in Worcester daughter of the late Agesilao and Benedetta (Ranucci) Ciccarelli and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. In her younger years Mary worked at the former C.T. Sherer Company, Denholms Department Store, And Leo's Pastry Shop. However her most treasured role was Mom. Mary was a life time member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann, she was also member of their Golden Years Club, the San Vitaliano Women's Society and the Crystal Club. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and their trips to the Casino. She loved to cook and was an exquisite baker. She loved to make her Italian specialties especially her Anisette cookies, no one could make them like her! But her most enjoyable time was when she was with her family. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the entire staff of the Holy Trinity Nursing Center for their excellent care and compassion shown to Mary and her family during her stay there. Mary's funeral will be held on Monday September 30, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation st. with a Mass of Christian burial at 9:30AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 3:00PM to 6:00PM on Sunday in the funeral home.
