Josephine (Aramento) Giacobbe

Josephine D. (Aramento) Giacobbe, 90 of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday September 15, 2013 in the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center surrounded by her daughter and the dedicated staff that cared for her. Josephine's husband of 46 years, Emilio Giacobbe passed away on January 14, 1991.She leaves her daughter Linda (Giacobbe) Gustafson of Leicester, MA. and many nieces and nephews. Josephine was born in Worcester on February 13, 1923. She was the daughter of Matteo and Congetta (Ciliberto) Aramento and lived here all her life. She was predeceased by her brothers Louis and Pasquale Aramento, and sisters; Santa Campanale, Filomena Bartolome, Mary Borgatti, Raffaela Ferrazzano, Lillian Belmonte, and Libera Aramento. Josephine was a loving mother and best friend to her daughter, Linda. They shared many wonderful times and memories together. She was a devoted wife to her husband "Mel" They worked together for many years. They had several coffee shops ,among them, Mel's and Jo and Mel's on Shrewsbury St.in Worcester. Josephine was eventually employed by the Paul Revere Life Insurance Co. She loved being a wife and mother. All who knew her will miss her wonderfull Italian cooking and baking. She was always selfless and always there for all who needed her help. She had so many friends. Josephine was a loving and compassionate person always with a smile and gentle way, she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Josephine was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, and also it's Golden Years Club. Josephine's daughter would like to give special thanks to the Doctors, many Nurses, CNA's Social Workers, Hospice staff and the entire Harmony Unit at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for the kindness and loving care that they gave to Josephine. Josephine's funeral will be held on Friday September 20, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. A calling hour will be held from 9:00AM to 10:30AM prior to leaving for Church. Interment with her husband will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
