Patricia A. (Madaio) Stano, 55, of Worcester passed away Monday night September 9th 2013 with the family she loves so much by her side after a brief illness. Patricia was born in Worcester, the beloved daughter of deceased parents Anthony F. and Anna E. (DeFosse) Madaio. She graduated from Burncoat Junior/Senior High School and later furthered her education with the Red Cross. Patty started her career at Worcester Memorial Hospital and progressed over 35 years to supervisor of the housekeeping department for the UMass-Memorial Health Care. In the later part of the seventies, Patricia met and in 1979 married the man who would be her devoted husband for the next 35 years, Richard Stano. Together they settled in the Shrewsbury Street neighborhood of Worcester to raise their family. She has lived there ever since. Patricia is survived by the love of her life, Richard and her beloved daughter Amanda Stano; She also is survived by her three brothers, James A. Madaio of Worcester, Atty John F. Madaio and his wife Susan of Paxton, Paul B. Madaio and his wife Lisa of Whitinsville; her two nieces, Molly and Laura Madaio; dear cousin Linda McManaman and beloved goddaughter Patricia Arsenault and several other aunts, uncles, extended family members and friends. Patty was very devoted to her family and extended family. She was most happy having family and friends around her at family gatherings, her home or special functions. She loved Christmas and especially celebrating the Fourth of July at her home every year where all could view the fireworks. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Patricia's family Thursday, September 12th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Friday, September 13th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in St John's Church, 44 Temple St. Worcester. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
