Michael T. John, 84, of Worcester a devoted family man, passed away peacefully Tuesday, August 20th 2013, surrounded by the family he loved so much. Michael was born in Jamestown, New York, moving to Worcester at the age of 4. He was the son of Thamel and Olymbia (Fatse) John. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade. Michael then joined the U.S. Army to serve his country honorably during the Korean War. Upon returning, he accepted a position with the Ardiuni Corporation as a machinist. He then moved to the Jamesbury Corporation where he worked over 20 years before retiring. Michael met and on August 26, 1956 married the love of his life and wife for the next 57 years Catherine L. (Lambe) John. Together they settled in the Lakeview section of Worcester to raise their family. They have lived there ever since. Michael is survived by his devoted family; his wife Catherine "Kitty"; his three sons and their families, Paul A. John of Millbury, David G. John, his wife Allison and their sons, Nicholas, Stephen and Mark of Auburn, Jeffrey M. John his wife Ursula and their children, Christopher, Matthew and Rebecca of Paxton; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. His siblings, Legore, Terry, Nicholas and James Jim and Olga Theodore all pre deceased him. Michael was a longtime active member and volunteer of St Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church. He enjoyed going on trips and traveling with his family. He also cherished those times spent with his grandchildren, attending their baseball and basketball games. Family events were special, including cookouts, holidays and family occasions. A quiet devoted family man, he cherished being at home with his wife, boys and grandchildren. To him they were his life and his joy. He took great pride in them. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24th at 10:00 am in St Mary Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury St. Burial with military honors will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 9am to 10 am in St Mary's Albanian Orthodox Church prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Michael's memory to the Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 300 Barber Ave. Worcester 01606.
