Domenico Conte, 88 of Worcester, formerly of Acri, Italy, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at St. Vincent's Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Domenico's wife of fifty-nine years, Rosina (Marchese) Conte passed away on June 14, 2009. He is survived by four sons, Santo Conte and his wife Bombina, Giuseppe "Joe" Conte and his wife Pina, Angelo Conte and his wife Darlene all of Worcester and Antonio Conte and his wife Assunta of Acri, Italy; his daughter, Francesca Patramanis and her husband Perry of Worcester; eleven grandchildren, Anthony Conte and his wife Francesca, Karin Conte and her partner Diedra Finney, Frank Conte, Giuseppe "Pino" Conte all of Worcester, Domenic "Mimmo" Conte and his wife Nicole of Virginia, Rosie Scano and her husband Derek of Millbury, Constantino "Dino" Patramanis, Tatiana Conte, Alessia Conte, Giuliano Conte and Simona Conte all of Worcester; nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Domenico is predeceased by seven brothers, Pasquale, Gennaro, Vincenzo, Giuseppe, Santo, Francesco and Mariano Conte; two sisters, Angelina and Rosina Conte. Domenico was born in Acri, Province of Cosenza, Italy, a son of the late Nicola and Rachela (Guagliardi) Conte. He lived in Italy till 1968 later moving to Worcester where he has lived ever since. Domenico worked as a machinist for National Envelope for thirty years before he retired in 1989. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Worcester. Domenico loved playing Bocce in his younger days, making his own wine, the soccer team Milano and dancing. His greatest enjoyment in life was his family. He loved being with them and they will always remember him smiling and having a good time. The Conte family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the staff and The Saint Francis Home for the outstanding care and compassion given to Domenico during his time of need. Services for Domenico will be held on Monday, August 12, 2013 form the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 11th from 4-7 p.m. in the funeral home. Flowers are welcome.
