Anthony "Tony" J. Guinto, loving and beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on August 7, 2013 in Beaumont Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. He was 70 years old and surrounded at the end by his adoring family. Tony was born on March 30, 1943 in Worcester and was preceded in death by his father Rosario Guinto and his mother Michelina (D'Ambra) Guinto. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia "Tina" (Pasquerella) Guinto; two sons, Robert P. Guinto and his wife Nichole of Webster and Joseph A. Guinto of Worcester; two daughters, Christine C. Segar and her husband Joel of Holden and Gina M. Letourneau and her husband Robert of Worcester; a sister, Mary Hovenshian of Worcester; a brother-in-law, Alfred Pasquerella; five grandchildren. Katelynn, Ryan, Cameron, Sarah and Ariana and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers, Samuel and George Guinto and three sisters, Louise Vetras, Congetta Festa and Lucy Guinto. Anthony met his high school sweetheart, Patricia, in drum corps. Together they marched with the Sons of Italy and the Mount Carmel Crusaders. They raised 4 beautiful Children and 5 grandchildren whom he was very proud of, and loved most of All. Better known as Tony to his friends, he also owned General Floor Cleaning for over 20 years where he had the opportunity to meet and work with some incredible people. As a young boy Tony had a passion for the outdoors that carried thru his adulthood. At the age of 18 he received the Eagle Scout Award from the Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he spent as much time as he could out on the open seas or in the woods teaching his boys and sharing his passion for nature. In fact, he was known to have the biggest neighborhood garden. Tony also loved old movies, shooting archery, and making his famous Italian pizza. He will be fondly remembered by his family and friends. Family, friends, and others whose lives Tony touched are invited to MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester from 9:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. on Saturday, August 10, 2013. His funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 noon in St. John's Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester. Burial will be held privately.
