Frederick C Gothing Jr

Frederick C. Gothing, Jr., 56, of Worcester, passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013, in his home, surrounded by his loving family. Frederick is survived by his wife of thirty-five years, Lucita "Lucy" (Martinez-Fetalvero) Gothing; his parents, Frederick and June (Chapdelaine) Gothing, Sr.; a sister, Diane Jepson of Worcester; three brothers, Kenneth Gothing and his wife Salvacion of Orlando, FL, Gary Gothing and his wife Jacqueline of Boylston and Eric Gothing and his wife Susan of Tolland, CT; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. He was born in Worcester and lived most of his life in Boylston, before moving to Worcester, several years ago. He served his nation in the United States Navy. He worked as a chef for many years at various restaurants throughout the Worcester area, at venues including, Holiday Inn, the Double Tree Inn, Holy Cross College and Astra Pharmaceuticals. Fred loved sports and was an avid Patriots and Bruins fan. He loved to go fishing and had been an outstanding softball pitcher in his youth and while in the Navy. Funeral Services were held privately. There are no calling hours. The family is requesting that flowers be omitted and donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
