Frances A. "Chic" (LaCanfora) DeProspo, 88, of Worcester died peacefully Saturday July 27, 2013 in the Golden Living Hermitage Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 65 years Rocco "Rocky" DeProspo passed in 2011. Frances is survived by two sons; Ronald DeProspo and his wife Cheryl, and Peter DeProspo and his wife Pamela all of Worcester. Her adoring grandchildren; Wendy, Jessica, Peter Rocco, and Nicholas. And her great grandchildren, Gianni, Lola, and Lucca. "Chic" also leaves her brothers Samuel LaCanfora of Shrewsbury, and his wife Marianna, and Peter LaCanfora of Naples Florida and his wife Carol. a sister Josephine Ventresca, of Worcester and a brother in law Domenic DeProspo of Fishkill N.Y. and many nephews and nieces She was predeceased by 3 sisters Gloria DiGiorno, Julia Marchese, and Ann Caporelli all of Worcester. Frances was born in Worcester daughter of the late Peter and Maria ( LaMonica) LaCanfora and has lived in Worcester all her life. She was a graduate of Commerce High School. "Chic" worked for the former Putnam & Thurston Restaurant for many years before she retired. She was a life member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church and was a member of their Golden Years Club. "Chic" loved gardening especially tending to her flowers. She enjoyed playing cards and a good day at the Casino! But her most treasured times were those spent with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. "Chic" enjoyed life to the fullest and will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Docimo family for their compassionate and loving care of "Chic." A funeral for Frances will be held Thursday August 1, 2013 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours will be held from 4:00PM to 7:00PM in the funeral home on Wednesday evening. Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
