Helen R. (Friguglietti) Tripodi, 90, of Worcester, passed away Thursday, July 25, 2013, in Saint Vincent Hospital. Helen is survived by her lovingly devoted husband of forty-eight years, Louis N. Tripodi, Jr; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew and God children. Helen was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Francis A. and Josephine (Floria) Friguglietti, she graduated from Saint Stephen's High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. She was predeceased by a brother and six sisters, Francis X. Friguglietti, Catherine Armey, Josephine Noone, Margaret D'Acri, Anna Foster, Barbara M. Friguglietti and Marie Friguglietti. Helen was a gentle and caring women who sought to share God's love and compassion; she was able to accomplish that while working as a social worker at The Travelers Aid Society that was once located in Union Station. Her devotion to her faith was ever apparent in her as she was a daily communicant at St. Stephen's, Our Lady of Loreto and Our Lady of Lourdes. She and Lou were members of Saint Stephen's Church and she was a member of the Legion of Mary there. She was also a member of the Jolly Jills, and group of ladies that visited nursing homes and sang to the residents. She enjoyed attending the Miraculous Mary Novena, and was an ever present volunteer at Our Lady of Loreto church and let a Rosary group at Hammond House. She and Lou enjoyed travelling throughout the United States and various place around the world; and she found great peace while visiting Cape Cod. Helen's family would like to thank the wonderful staff of caring people at Saint Vincent Hospital, especially her grand niece, Stephanie Parker for her nursing skills and loving devotion to her Aunt Helen. Calling Hours for Helen will be held on Monday, July 29, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Tuesday, from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, where people will gather at 9 a.m. followed by a procession departing at 9:30 for Saint Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester, where her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Saint John's Cemetery, Worcester In lieu of flowers, donation in her memory may be made to Saint Stephen's Restoration in Fund, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester, MA 01604 or to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester, MA 01604.
