Wanda Katrina Lucas 39, of 306 Cambridge Street, Worcester, Ma. went home to be with her Lord on July 9, 2013 at 8:21 A.M. after a long illness. She leaves to mourn her passing her parents, Dewitt Vance Jr. and Iola Vance of Worcester, Ma. She also leaves two sisters, Dionne Mercado and Monica Vance of Worcester, Ma. and one brother, Howard Keith Lucas of Hartford, Connecticut. Wanda also leaves to one grandmother, Bernice Adjeman of Worcester and a great-grandmother, Elizabeth Baines of Wilson, NC. and leaves to her passing many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Wanda graduated from South High School in Worcester, Ma. and Bauder College in Atlanta, Ga. earning a degree in fashion merchandise designing in 1993. Wanda was also a long time, active member of Mt. Olive Pentecostal Church before her illness in 1995. She loved singing in the choir, fashion designing, and taking care of her nieces and nephews. Wanda also loved going shopping for clothing with her little sister Monica and modeling as she tried on outfits. She was very quiet but she had a very warm smile that would touch your heart. She also worked as the assistant manager at a Lord's Taylor Store in Worcester as well as Rich's Department Store in Atlanta, Ga. Although Wanda is in heaven with her Lord as we celebrate her home going today, she taught all of us a valuable lesson in the of power endurance that we will cherish until we see her again. So long for now, Wanda, we will see you again soon! Wanda's homegoing service will be held Thursday, July 18th at 11:00 am in Mt Olive Pentecostal Church, 60 Highland St. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 am in the church prior to the service. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to the John McNichols scholarship fund, care of Mt Olive Pentecostal Church, 41 Wachusett St. 01609.
