Vincent R. Maher, 70, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013. He is survived by two sons, Timothy Maher and his wife April of Southbridge and Scott V. Maher of Framingham; four grandchildren, Megan J. Maher, David Berard and his wife Heather, Michelle Maher and Beverly Maher; a great grandson, David. He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly (Fear) Maher in 1987 and by his daughter in law, Julie Maher, MD, in 2012. Vincent was born in Worcester, son of Vincent and Dorothy R. (LeRoux) Maher and with the exception of his military service, lived here all his life. He served his nation proudly in the United States Air Force. He worked as a machinist for many years at Norton Company, before he retired. He had been a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish. Vincent was a man of his word, he was loyal, loving and kind. He would offer help to anyone who needed it. He loved his children with all his heart. He enjoyed softball and volleyball. A graveside service for Vincent will be held on Friday, July 19, at 11 a.m. in the Garden of Honor at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours.
