Mary M. Sherin, 99, formerly of Uxbridge, passed from life to eternal life on July 8, 2013. She was born in Bristol, Rhode Island, daughter of Euclid and Alice (Donnelly) Vermette. She grew up in Rhode Island, later moving to Uxbridge, MA, where she lived for many years, before moving to Shrewsbury. She graduated from Rhode Island College and earned her Master's Degree from Columbia University. She was the first girl in her family to get a higher education. She taught high school in Rhode Island, New Jersey and Massachusetts and had many wonderful stories as a teacher inspiring young people. She also inspired her son, Kevin; her grandchildren; cousins; nieces; nephews and great nieces and nephews. She will be missed. She is survived by her son, Kevin M. Sherin of Orlando; her grandchildren, Grace, Daniel and Jennifer. Mary was predeceased by her husband, Kevin R. Sherin; two brothers and two sisters, Terrance J., Euclid J. and Elizabeth Vermette and Beatrice Guerin. The family will appreciate charitable donations to the Alzheimer's foundation which affected both she and her husband, Kevin, before they died. A Calling Hour will be held on Saturday, July 20, from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a Memorial Service to celebrate her life 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Saint Mary's Cemetery, Uxbridge.
