Irma M. (Bousquet) Woodman, 80, of Worcester a longtime local hairdresser passed away peacefully Thursday, July 11th with her daughters gathered beside her. Irma was born in Worcester; her parents were the late, George F.X. and Olivine (Belanger) Bousquet. She grew up in Worcester, graduated from Fanning Trade High School class of 1951, with a degree in cosmetology. She then married and settled in the Lake View Neighborhood of Worcester to raise her family, working as a hairdresser for various Worcester area salons. In 1966, Irma accepted a position as manager of the former W.T.Grant Company beauty salon where she remained until 1972, when she founded her own salon "Make Your Day Beauty Salon" as well as becoming the hairdresser for the Mercadante Funeral Home for more than 20 years. She is survived by her devoted five daughters, Angela M. Dell'Ovo, Doreen R. Taylor and her husband John of Marshfield, Belinda A. O'Brien and her husband Wayne of CT, Cheryl L. Woodman, and Elizabeth M. Hartz of Worcester; eight grandchildren she adored and who adored her, Edward Lewis, Gian and Liana Dell'Ovo, Jennifer O'Brien, Daniel and Dillon Hartz, Sarah, and John Taylor; a great grandson Jackson; Nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. A grandson, David Hartz, Jr. and brother Roger F.X. Bousquet pre deceased her. Irma was a devoted catholic and active member of the former St. Margaret Mary Church. She was a member of their Women's Club, Bereavement Committee, Church Maintenance Group, Leisure Club and an active coordinator of Church Senior Trips. Once St Margaret Mary closed she became a volunteer and member of St Anne Parish in Shrewsbury. Irma was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother, who found her life's inspiration with her family especially her girls and grandchildren who meant the world to her. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, July 14th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Monday, July 15th from the funeral home with a Mass at 10:00 am in St Anne's Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St Anne Human Services, 130 Boston Turnpike Rd Shrewsbury 01545 of the St Jude Children's Research fund, 1 Danny Thomas Way, Memphis Tenn.
