Barbara (Peluso) Perrone, 82, of Worcester passed away Monday, July 8, 2013 in the University of Massachusetts Hospital after being stricken ill at home. Barbara was born in Worcester; her parents were the late Anthony "Pap" Anna T. (Heavey) Peluso. She graduated from Commerce High School, furthered her education in cosmetology at Broms Beauty Academy. Barbara then met and married the man that would be the love of her life for the next 63 years Raymond J. Perrone. Together they settled in the Lake View neighborhood of Worcester to raise their family and have lived there ever since. Barbara is survived by the family she loved so much; her husband Raymond J. Perrone, Sr.; two sons, Raymond J. Perrone, Jr. and his longtime companion Denise Lamoureux of Shrewsbury, Atty Robert A. Perrone, Esq. and his wife Wendy of Worcester; a daughter, Patricia A. "Tricia" Tomasetta and her husband Arthur Jr. of Millbury; a brother, Robert A. Peluso and his wife Vivian of Worcester; five grandchildren she adored; Michael R. , Jeffrey P., and Brett J. Perrone, Anthony J. and Deanna B. Tomasetta; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Barbara loved watching her grandsons compete in sports, especially football, baseball and basketball. She enjoyed watching her granddaughter Deanna at the many dance competitions. Barbara enjoyed playing Bocce, dancing with her husband Ray, and socializing with her numerous friends. Life and family were very important in Barbara's life. Nothing meant more to her than being with them, laughing, celebrating and just enjoying the time. Barbara was active in her community as well. She was an active member of the former St Margaret Mary Church for more than 60 years. A member of its women's guild, and Cardinal Wright Catholic Daughters of America. She was a member of the Ladies Beato Angelo D'Acri Society, a committee member of the East Side Ecumenical Organization consisting of Religious Church Groups of all Faiths. She was an active officer of the former Sacred Heart Academy Mother's Club, and Lake View School PTA. A former member and officer of the Jack Barry Little League. Barbara was also a volunteer for the American Heart Association as well as Cancer and Arthritis Organizations. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday July 11th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Barbara's funeral will be held Friday, July 12th from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 10:00 am in St Stephen's Church, 357 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Barbara's memory to St Stephen's Church Renovation fund, 16 Hamilton St, Worcester, Ma 01604.
