Aida L. Forty, 65 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thurs., May 30, 2013 in Brigham & Women's Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Aida is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Manuel Forty; children, Fernando Rosario, III and his wife Yessenia of Florida; Gretchen Acevedo and her husband Joel and Minerva Castillo and her husband Jorge all of Worcester; 3 step-children; Emmanuel Forty, Grace Rosario and Merari Forty; siblings; Carlos Diaz, Amparo, Paquita, Antonia and Rosa M. Diaz all of Puerto Rico; eight grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a grandson, Xavier J. Acevedo, 2 brothers and 3 sisters. Aida was born in Orocovis, P.R., a daughter of the late Carlos and Rosalia (Ortiz) Diaz. She lived most of her life in Puerto Rico later moving to Worcester, where she has lived for the past 29 years. Aida worked as an administrator at Centro Medico for 15 years retiring in 1981. While living in Worcester, Aida and her husband worked alongside each other as pastors and founders of Iglesia Cristiana Natanael Inc. Aida organized and traveled doing missionary. Aida loved to preach the word of God. She was a caring and giving woman, opening her home to everyone and those that were less fortunate. Aida loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She also loved her garden and flowers. Services for Aida will be held on Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held on Monday, June 3rd from 4-8 p.m. in House of Prayer, 21 Canterbury St., Worcester. Flowers are welcome.
