Gloria M. Franciosa

Gloria M. (Quercio) Franciosa, loving and beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and beautiful spirit passed away peacefully on May 25, 2013. She was 94 years and was surrounded at the end by her family. Gloria was born on November 29, 1918, in Worcester and was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Pierino Franciosa, her parents, Fredrick and Maria (Candelma) Quercio and six brothers, Leo, Barto, Jerry, Bomay, Dante and Fredrick Quercio, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Guy A. Franciosa and his wife Donna of Boylston and Gerald J. Franciosa and his late wife Ruth of Worcester; two brothers, Reno Quercio of New Jersey and Benny Quercio of Henderson, Nevada; three grandchildren, Michael, Carrie and Jennifer; seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Gloria, a homemaker and true to her Italian roots loved to bake. She enjoyed baking for every holiday, and loved giving her cookies and pasta away to friends and neighbors. She also enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to the casinos and was the ideal travel companion. Above all, Gloria was a devoted to her family - constantly caring and fiercely loyal. She was our heart and soul, the magnet that drew the family together. Gloria's funeral services and burial will be held privately on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, Worcester. Entombment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.
