Anne M. (Kelleher) Bernier, 94, of Worcester, died peacefully Wednesday May 22, 2013 in the Sterling Village surrounded by her loving family. Her husband of 69 years, Norman A. Bernier died in 2009. Anne is survived by her loving daughter Anne Marie Monfredo and her husband John of Worcester, her adoring grandchildren, John C. Monfredo and his fiancé Sandy, and Annemarie Monfredo and her fiancé Joel. Anne also leaves a great grandchild Morgan Fey Monfredo, and two close nieces, Carol Farrell of Louisiana and Jeanne Cutler of Worcester, and several great nieces and nephews. Anne was predeceased by a brother Joseph J. Kelleher Jr. Anne was born in Worcester daughter of the late Joseph J. and Anna V. (McCann) Kelleher and has lived here all her life. Anne was a graduate of Classical High School, and then went on to get her Bachelor's degree in education at Worcester State College. Anne taught French and Latin at Wachusett Regional High School for over 20 years before she retired. Anne was a member of St. George's Catholic Church, and was also a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association and the National Education Association. Anne enjoyed square dancing, reading, playing the piano and also liked to cook and bake. However her most precious times were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchild! She was a lovely lady who will be sadly missed by her family and friends. The family would like to thank the entire staff at the Sterling Village for their excellent and loving care shown to Anne during her stay there. Anne's funeral will be held Tuesday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 AM in St. George Church 38 Brattle St. Visitation with the family will be held on Monday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM in the funeral home. Interment with her husband will be in Notre Dame Cemetery.
