Susie (Christmas) Kyle, 67, of Worcester, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at UMass Hospital, surrounded by people that loved her. Her husband, James M. Kyle, pre-deceased her in 2007. Susie is survived by her loving daughter, Mary Westover, with whom she lived and Mary's boyfriend Stephen Elliott; two sons, Jeff Kyle and his wife Shelly of Virginia Beach and Kevin Cherry and his wife Sandra of Douglasville, Georgia; a brother, James Christmas of Albany, Georgia; seven grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Susie was predeceased by two sons, Keith Cherry and Danny Pierce; as well as a brother, Lewis Christmas and a sister, Benopal Christmas. Susie was born in Albany, Georgia daughter of the late Elbert and Anna (Calhoun) Christmas. She was raised in Miami, where she graduated from high school, before moving north of Waltham, MA. She later settled in Worcester in 2005. Susie worked in customer service for Clark Shoe Company for many years. She had previously worked as an agriculturist at Peto Seed Company in Florida. She enjoyed playing Farmville and was full of wit and spunk. She will be remembered as a wonderful mother, grandmother and friend; with a great sense of humor and contagious laugh. Susie's family would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Worcester Elder Services, for their compassion and care was a tremendous help. Calling hours for Susie will be held on Wednesday, May 15, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, May 16, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rural Cemetery, Worcester.
