Margaret M. (Kelly) Tomaiolo, 98, formerly of Strathmore Rd. passed away peacefully Saturday, May 11th 2013 after a period of declining health. Margaret was born in Worcester a daughter of Irish Immigrants Daniel and Margaret (Flaherty) Kelly. She graduated from Commerce High School class of 1933, met and then in 1942 married her soul mate and husband former City Councilor Peter D. Tomaiolo. For the next 50 years they lived and enjoyed life in Worcester together as husband and wife until Peter passed away November 25th 1992. She has continued to live in Worcester ever since. Margaret began her working career as an Office Clerk for the Denholm-McKay Department store, later leaving there to become private secretary for her husband Peter as he became a Worcester City Councilor. Margaret is survived by many nieces and nephews and extended family of the Kelly and Tomaiolo families. Besides her husband Peter, Margaret was predeceased by several family members including John and Daniel Kelly and Beatrice "Ann" Foran. She was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church. A former member and Sunday school teacher of Sacred Heart Church. Margaret enjoyed being a housewife, she loved to shop and travel to Boston, she enjoyed the Saturday nights at the White Cliff's in Northborough which her husband and brother in laws owned and operated. Active in politics with her husband Peter, Margaret notably worked with her husband as part of the Democratic Party's successful campaign of Senator John F Kennedy for president. Margaret's funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am Monday at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry St. Burial next to her husband will follow in St John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. Memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Christopher Heights Activities Fund, 10 Mary Scano Dr. The Tomaiolo family would like to thank the Staff of Christopher Heights for the care, comfort and compassion they showed Margaret during her time there.
