Antoinette Marie "Toni" (Gregoire) Vigneaux, 84, of Shrewsbury and York Beach Maine, passed away peacefully Sunday, May 5th 2013 with family gathered beside her after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Antoinette was born in Worcester, a child of a large family of Canadian immigrants raised by her grandparents Adolphis and Clara Gregoire. She lived and was educated in Worcester where she met and then married her high school sweet heart & prince charming, J Roger Vigneaux. Together they lived in Worcester before moving to Shrewsbury in 1957 where she lived for the remaining years raising their family. Antoinette's husband and soul mate, Roger passed away in 1990. She is survived by the family she loved so much, her son Mark Vigneaux and his wife Jessica of Clinton, her daughter Karin Lopriore and her sons Michael of Dennis, Kyle and his wife Alison of San Francisco and her son Alan Vigneaux and his children, Nicole her daughter Emily, Jason, and Joel of Norcross, Georgia; extended family and friends. Besides her husband, a daughter in law, Lucy Vigneaux of Norcross Georgia passed away in 2009. Toni worked as a loan officer many years for the former Guaranty Bank and then Bank of New England before retiring. She previously worked for manufacturing companies in the area including Tom McCann. She was a faithful member of St Anne's Church in Shrewsbury. Toni was a devoted mother whose life's inspiration was spending time with her family, grandchildren and friends. She especially enjoyed summers in York Beach Maine; a place she considered to be her utopia. She loved being a homemaker, cooking and baking for her family. Her favorite past times included collecting knick-knacks, browsing flea markets, walking the beach and sampling Brown's many ice cream varieties. Additionally she liked painting ceramics, knitting, yoga and time spent with her beloved cats. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Toni's family, Thursday, May 9th from 5 pm to 8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Worcester. Her funeral will be held Friday, May 10th from the funeral home with a Mass celebrated at 11:00 am in St Anne's Church, 170 Boston Turnpike Rd, Shrewsbury. Burial next to her prince charming Roger will follow in Mt View Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in her name can be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Massachusetts, 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
