Susan M. (Hannam) Stapinski, 64 WORCESTER - Susan M. (Hannam) Stapinski, 64, of Worcester died Thursday, May 2, 2013 in St. Vincent Hospital after a brief illness. She leaves her loving husband of 40 years, Paul F. Stapinski; two brothers, Douglas and Kevin Hannam both of Worcester; two sisters, Maureen Trainor of Bradford and Margaret Ross of Nova Scotia; a niece, Michelina Paulson of Worcester who was like a daughter to her; her best friends, Carol Pollisack and Pat Gremo; and her caretaker Diana Davis, who went above and beyond her duties to care for Susan. She leaves her aunts, Louise Batrich of Chicago, Illinois and Margarita Kosanovich of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by her sister, Pauline Doyle. Susan was born on May 16, 1948 in Worcester, MA and was preceded in death by her father, Douglas J. Hannam, Sr. and her mother, Dita (Theodore) Hannam. She graduated from South High School in Worcester and received her cosmetology degree from Leo's Beauty Academy. Susan worked for over thirty years at Fashion Flair Beauty Salon as a stylist before going to work at the office of the Worcester District Clerk of Courts, retiring in April of this year. She enjoyed shopping, her trips to the casinos and vacationing in the Bahamas and Myrtle Beach. Relatives and friends will gather for calling hours on Sunday, May 5, 2013 from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 6th, from the funeral home, then departing in procession at 9:40 a.m. for a Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in Saint Paul's Cathedral Church, 38 High Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in Saint John Cemetery, Worcester.
