Anthony Padavano

January 9, 1928 — May 2, 2013

Anthony J. Padavano, 85, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2013 at UMass Medical Center, surrounded by his family. His loving wife of forty-three years, Yolanda D. (Galetta) Padavano, predeceased him in June of 1995. "Tony" is survived by his children, David A. Padavano and his wife Tina of Spencer; Alisa Padavano Deveau and her husband William, and Angela Padavano and her spouse Rose-Ellen, with whom he lived, all of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. Anthony was born in Worcester to the late Giuseppe and Maria (Fulginiti) Padavano and has lived here all his life; he was the sole survivor of twelve siblings. He was predeceased by his siblings, Joseph, Frank and Patsy Padavano, Rose Fusaro, Hortense Cariglia, Columbia Comforti, Antoinette Jarmolowicz, Domenica "Minnie" Padavano, Catherine Riggieri, Mary Mancini and Angie Azzarone. He served his nation proudly during World War II, in the United States Navy and was stationed aboard the U.S.S. Massey. Tony owned and operated AccuDie, Incorporated for thirty years, before retiring in 2003. He loved to golf and was a proud member of Green Hill Golf Course. He was a huge fan of the New England Patriots and also enjoyed ballroom dancing. In the 1960's, he was an avid bowler and was the first person to score a 700 series on the east coast. Tony was an exceptional man of many talents. He was to "go to" guy in the neighborhood whenever something needed to be fixed. He especially enjoyed his backyard, including his patio, swimming pool and garden. He was happiest when he was home with his wife and children, who were his pride and joy. Tony could often be found eagerly telling stories of years gone by to younger generations.
