Donna M. (McLaughlin) Sclamo, 54, of Worcester passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, May 1st 2013 after being stricken ill at home. Donna was born in Worcester one of five children of Walter McLaughlin Sr and Elizabeth M. McLaughlin. She graduated from Worcester Public Schools, met and later married the man that would be her husband for the next 35 years Stephen J. Sclamo. Together they settled in Worcester to raise their children and have lived here ever since. Donna is survived by her husband Stephen; three children, Anthony Sclamo, David Sclamo and his fiancé Stephanie Shays, and Jennifer Sclamo all of Worcester; a sister, Mary McLaughlin, three brothers, Walter McLaughlin, Jr., Patrick and Daniel McLaughlin; The apple of her eye and life's inspiration her grandson David S. Sclamo Jr. whom she loved very much and whom loved her as much. Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Donna was a member of Scared Heart-St Catherine of Sweden Church. She loved to antique shop, the beaches of Hampton Beach, gardening, trips to New York City and cooking. In Donna's life there was nothing more precious than her family. The ability to be with her family was her life. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Sunday, May 5th from 3 pm to 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A prayer service will follow at 6 pm. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street Worcester.
