Joan D. (Chalifoux) Collette, 77, formerly of 3 Dartmouth St and Sunderland Rd in Worcester passed away peacefully Wednesday April 24th 2013 with her family gathered beside her. Joan was born in Worcester, one of three children of Leo and Jeannette (Vigneault) Chalifoux. She grew up in the French hill section of Worcester graduated from St Stephen's High. Noteably, Joan while in High School at the age of 14 thru mutual friends met the man who would later become her husband and partner for the next 59 years, Raymond Collette and upon graduating from High School she married Raymond and took a position of employment at the Jamesbury Corporation, Shrewsbury Plant working alongside her new husband at the same company until she retired and has lived in Worcester all her life. Joan is survived by the family she loved so much; Her devoted husband Raymond; their four children and their families, Donna M. Robbins, her husband David and their children, Joshua and Alexandra; Mark R. Collette and his wife Carol, Gary P. Collette, his wife Anne and their children, Alison, Stephanie, and Rachel, Richard L. Collette, his wife Patricia and their children, Nicole, Danielle, Jessica and Richard; a sister, Lucille Gingras; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her brother, Paul Chalifoux pre deceased her. Joan was all about family, spending time with them, cooking and baking for them. She cherished her husband, children and especially her grandchildren who called her "Madoo" and loved her as much as she loved them. She loved to Camp, the summers at Hampton Beach, the winters at Myrtle Beach and everything in between as long as she was with the people she loved. Joan was also a member of Holy Family Parish at St Joseph Church. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 am Monday April 29, 2013 in St Joseph Church, 325 Hamilton St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours. Memorial remembrances in her name may be made to the American Heart Association, Speen St Framingham, the Joslin Diabetes Center, 1 Joslin Place, Boston or the Holy Trinity Rehabilitation and Care Center, 300 Barber Ave Worcester.
