Roger P. Menard, 61, of Worcester died peacefully Sunday April 21, 2013 in the Beth Israel Hospital Boston with family around him. Roger is survived by his loving wife of 28 years Francine J. (Palumbo) Menard, a son Brian A.Menard A daughter Nancy Menard and her fiancé Craig Colzie, a sister Janet Strand and her husband Stephen, sister in laws, Eleanor Palumbo and her partner Barbara Carraher, Patricia Palumbo and her husband William Murphy, Nancy Abdella and her husband John. Roger is also survived by a nephew Tim Strand and his wife Nicole, and a niece Sara Siegler and her husband Joshua, and several aunts, uncles and cousins Roger was born on April 1, 1952 in Worcester, son of the late Raymond and Yvonne (Berry) Menard and lived here most of his life. He was a graduate of Oxford High School, and also Worcester Vocational & Industrial Technical School. Roger worked for the Glavin Center in Shrewsbury for many years, and was also a Draftsman at the Paige Electric Company. He was a long time member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann Church, and was an Instructor at the Boy Scouts of America for many years. Roger was an outstanding athlete while at Oxford High playing football and Ran track for many years. He was an avid Fishermen who loved fly tying, camping, traveling, and really loved being with his family. He was proudly awaiting the birth of his first grandson Joseph Anthony Roger in a few weeks. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. Roger's funeral will be held Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann 24 Mulberry St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be from 5:00PM to 7:00PM on Wednesday. Entombment will be in St. John's Mausoleum.
