Frank Watkins, 77, of Worcester, passed away peacefully home to the Lord, Friday, April 12, 2013, with devoted family gathered beside him. Frank was born in Jacksonville, Florida, a son of Joseph and Nellie Mae (Fowler) Watkins. He grew up and educated in Florida before moving to Worcester as a young man in 1965. He took a position as a process inspector for the Wyman-Gordon Corporation plant in Worcester and worked for twelve years before assuming a position as a route driver for a trucking company delivering bulk U.S. Mail between processing facilities before retiring. Frank is survived by the family he loves so much, his longtime companion and partner Mary Clark; seven devoted children, Frank Watkins, Jr. and his wife Karen, James and Charles Watkins all of Worcester, Linda Badger and her husband Raymond, Gloria Brown and her husband Marcus all in Florida, Patricia Bioh and her husband Edward in Maryland, and Kendra Clark of Worcester; his wife, Anna Mae (Rome) Watkins; five brothers, Nathaniel, Louis, Hubert and John Lee Watkins all in New York and Dennis Watkins in Florida; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A grandson, Nathan Watkins, two brothers, Lonnie and Ernest Watkins and three sisters, Fannie Mae Johnson, Christina Rome, and Nellie Williams all pre deceased him. Frank was a member of the Morningstar Lodge of Masons. He loved to fish, play cards, travel and being outdoors. He also enjoyed watching sports especially Baseball, basketball, football and wrestling. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20th at 2:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Burial will be held privately at a later time. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family from 12 noon to the time of the service in the funeral home. Family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions in his name be made to the Mount Sinai Church of God, Wellington St Worcester.
