Mary R. (Zingarelli) Mastrototoro, 88, a 55 year resident of Shrewsbury and West Harwich on the Cape passed away peacefully Tuesday April 9, 2013, with her family by her side after a period of declining health. Mary was born in Worcester, the daughter of Italian immigrants, Mauro and Grace (DiPilato) Zingarelli. As a young girl her family moved to Brooklyn NY, where she grew up and graduated from High School. Her family then moved back to Worcester in 1945 and in 1946 met and married the man who would become her husband for the next 42 years, Domenic "Dimo" Mastrototoro. Together they moved to and settled in Shrewsbury to raise their family and have lived there ever since. Mary worked in her younger years as a stitcher for Renda's Clothing, then for a time at Marshall's Sportswear. She supported her husband in his new business Caprera Construction. Later she worked with her son at Mastro Insurance. Mary's husband Dimo passed away in 1989; She is survived by her devoted two children, Paul Mastrototoro, and Linda M. Mastrototoro and her husband Paul Putes all of Worcester; her cherished granddaughter Dominique Mastrototoro in Grafton; a brother, Carlo Zingarelli of Agawam; three sisters in law, Ruth Zingarelli in Georgia, Rose Zannotti, and Nancy Mastrototoro in Shrewsbury; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Two brothers, Gaetano "Guy" and Nicholas Zingarelli, and an infant sister, Rose Zingarelli all pre deceased her. Mary was devoted to her catholic faith; she was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, its golden years and Our Lady of Sorrows organizations. The St Anne's Church Ladies Guild, and attended the many miraculous medal novenas held in the Worcester area with her daughter Linda. She was also a member of the Eastside Post 201 Ladies Auxiliary and a former member of the Rose Club. Mary was a dedicated mother, grandmother and wife. Her greatest joy in life were her husband, children, granddaughter and her church. She was active, vivacious, witty and pleasant. She loved to dance, travel and be with friends. Anyone in her company would always feel comfortable. Mary's funeral will be held Friday from the MERCADANTE FIUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. with a Mass at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, 24 Mulberry Street. Entombment next to her husband Dimo will follow in Notre Dame Mausoleum. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Thursday April 11th from 5 pm to 7 pm in the funeral home. The Family requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church Renovation Fund, 24 Mulberry St. The Mastrototoro family would like to thank the Autumn Village Long term care center, for the care, compassion and comfort they gave to Mary during her stay there.
