Carlos A. Vazquez, 64 of Worcester passed away home to the Lord with his family by his side Tuesday, April 2nd 2013 after a period of declining health. Carlos was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico, one of seven girls and three sons born to Leopold and Iris Maria (Ojeda) Vazquez. He grew up in Puerto Rico, moved to and lived in New York as a young man before coming to Worcester over 20 years ago. In 2003, Carlos met the women who would become his devoted wife for over seven years, GinaMarie (Ramsey) Vazquez and together they have lived here ever since. Carlos is survived by his wife GinaMarie; three children, April Vazquez, Carlos Vazquez, Jr. and Esther Vazquez, all in New York City; four grandchildren, Krystal, Shane, Marcus and Charles; a great grandson, Jesus; seven sisters; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Two brothers pre deceased him. Carlos worked several jobs to support his family. His last employment was for over 10 years as an operating room technician for St Vincent Hospital before retiring. He previously worked for companies such as, Bose Corporation, Providence house and others. Carlos was a loving husband and father, who cherished his family and his friends, loved working and tinkering around his house and in his yard. He was a boxing fan, and at onetime fought as an amateur. He also enjoyed the outdoors and the peace of fishing. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Carlos's family Monday, April 8th from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. His service will follow at 12:30 pm. Burial will be in St John Cemetery. The family request that flowers be omitted.
